Peltier Mini Chiller for cooling / heating water in aquariums / terrariums.

This digital aquarium chiller has a peltier-element, enabling it to maintain temperature by both HEATING and COOLING water which is pumped through it. The unit is equipped with thermostat controlled automatic shift between heating and cooling mode. As the unit can cool and heat water in order to maintain set temperature range, it is especially good for situations where temperature must be kept on a constant level. This chiller can maintain water temperature between 16 and 42°C and it is suitable for controlling temperature in terrariums and vivariums housing reptiles, amphibians and plants from temperate zones and mountain areas. It is also suitable for nano aquariums.

This chiller can be used to maintain terrarium temperature below 20 degrees when room temperatures are too high due to central heating or summertime heat season. Very good for terrariums housing salamanders and newts. It is also good for creating night-time temperature drop which is important for many orchids.

When cooling a terrarium / vivarium, a small open water container can be placed in the terrarium or water from an integrated water area is pumped through the chiller located outside. The cool water will also cool the air inside a closed terrarium. Alternatively, a closed circuit system can be used (water is circulated within a terrarium in a hose without an open water container).

Due to the small size and 70W power, this chiller model is capable to cool and heat only relatively small volumes of water. In aquarium use this chiller is suitable only for small nano aquariums up to 20 litres, especially if the difference between water temperature and room temperature is significant.

Due to the peltier-design, this chiller is very compact and as it does not have a compressor, it has a low operation noise. The unit has microprocessor control with LDC screen and external temperature sensor for the integrated thermostat. Suitable for universal European standard plug types F, C and E. The chiller operates on 12V, AC/DC converter is induced, the 230V power cable is detachable and replaceable with a standard computer power cable.

NOTE: Water pump and hoses are not included with the chiller. The chiller has hose connectors for a hose with 8mm internal diameter, PVC or silicon hose is recommended. Any small water pump is usable. For optimal cooling, water flow should be no more than 3 litres per minute. If higher flow is used, cooling results are not optimal due the time required for effective heat exchange inside the chiller.
