Grow tents are designed to be used in places where powerful grow lights are obtrusive or when artificially produced light is to be used as effectively as possible. Especially powerful LED grow lights producing purple light can be very disturbing to human eyes, so a light proof grow tent is often useful when LED grow lights are used in normal living quarters.

Grow tents have a light proof cover and a reflective interior. The internal walls and bottom reflect light to the plants from every direction, thus improving lighting efficiency remarkably. As a grow tent forms a closed space, the internal temperature, humidity, CO2-level and air flow can be adjusted according to the specific needs of the plants.

Silver Mylar Grow tents have steel frame and a double layer tent cover which is heat and moisture resistant. The complete inner surface of the tent is made out of reflective Silver Mylar-cloth. The tent is easy to assemble and is delivered in a handy storage bag.

Depending on the size, tent frame has two or three removable bars for light system installment. The tent cover is of a double layer design, the exterior is black and the interior is made out of reflective Silver Mylar-cloth. Double layer construction insulates heat relatively well so the internal temperature can adjusted regardless of the room temperature, for example cooler night temperatures (important for many orchids) can be achieved with cooling equipment, or the tent can be used as dormancy space for plants requiring a cool season in the winter.

Tent door has a zipper and Velcro fasteners, the other openings have Velcro fasteners. The tent cover is therefore completely light proof. There is an adjustable tubular opening for ventilation equipment in the ceiling and in the back wall. There are net covered ventilation holes in the back and side walls, which can be closed light proof with Velcro flaps when not in use. There is a separate flexible bottom tray, which can be removed without disassembling the tent frame. The bottom tray is made out of the same material as the tent cover and has reflective Mylar interior. Tent cover is heat resistant, but heat generating light systems should not be positioned too close to the tent walls.

Silver Mylar grow tent can be used continuously, or as a seasonal accessory. Larger tents have been even used as an infrared sauna.

Disassembled tent packed in the storage bag is approximately 100-120cm long depending on the model.
