Low voltage cooling / ventilation fan unit for aquariums, terrariums and miniature greenhouse applications.

This fan unit can be used to cool aquarium water by directing air flown to the water surface, which reduces water temperature by accelerated evaporation. The unit has an attachment fixture which enables it to be attached directly to the top of an aquarium glass wall. Clip part has locking screws and a removable bushing part enabling attachment to a glass up to 12mm / 23,5mm thick. Fixture enables the fan unit to be rotated 360° degrees so the air flow can be directed freely.

This fan is also suitable for ventilating terrariums and vivariums and for circulating air inside moist plant vivariums and miniature greenhouses.

This device is plugged in a normal 230V / 50Hz power socket and it has an internal transformer which reduces the voltage for the fan unit. The fan part uses 12V voltage, hence it is very safe to use within high humidity terrariums

NOTE! This is a 230V / 50Hz device, but as the internal parts operate on 12V voltage, it can be sensitive to over voltage. Therefore, it should be protected against electrical surges (voltage spikes).

This fan has been tested with simple mechanical (analog) timers that will not manipulate the voltage, while digital timers might generate an electrical surge fatal to 12V parts.
